Afghanistan sights...

The scenery is a lot different from the last time I was here. Last time I was in Afghanistan I was down south and it was dusty and dirty. No trees grass or too much animal life. It could be because I was in the middle of no-where.  Only time I saw green was when I was flying out of the base.

This time its a lot better.  I'm up north surrounded by mountains covered in snow in the winter. In the spring right now there's lots of rain but everything is starting to turn green and the weather is a nice socal 70-75. I see trees, grass, bushes, birds, camels, goats and stray dogs. The scenery up here is awesome.  On a high enough spot on base, I can see the surrounding villages, vehicles and sometimes the shepherd  tending a flock.

On a somewhat related note. today I met some people from GA ADT which is a National Guard Unit from Georgia. ADT stands for Agriculture Development Team and there all over the country here. The unit formed with experience people in agriculture.  They are here to help the nationals farm better. They do this by helping out, giving advice, providing gear. There is a big knowledge gap when it comes to farming over here so it leaves a big impact having U.S farmers and other professions teach Afghani's about irrigation, co-operative farming and other farming related thing I don't know. Anyways I'm thinking they need more of these ADT teams down at FOB Dywer and add a little more green to the place making it less of an eyesore.
