Speak up

I have always voiced my opinion on many matters. If I see a better way of doing things, or see something wrong, I speak up about it. Unfortunately in the military, its taboo , if someone ask questions about the chain of command, or the reasons and methods of a higher up.

I'm not talking about being rebellious, or purposely insubordinate. I'm talking about common sense stuff. Usually the welfare of junior Marines. Situations like: it's 90 degrees outside and humid, why don't hold formation in the shade, instead out in the sun. Questions like this get responses like " This is how things are done", or " no we need to do this" or " I'm a higher rank, I know better".

Thats why today, I was so glad when another Marine came out up me, and told me: Thanks ....thanks for standing up for us, when others don't. Even though you get in trouble for a lot things you do for us. Thanks for looking out.

It's been a long workday. Worked from 0730 to 2100 today. So thanks for the encouragement man. It really lifted my spirits.

Speak up

And I don't know why I'm not drunk yet, drank a 6pack and some wine. wtf? btw 2005 merlot wine sucks, taste like ass.
