My life: Festival

Okinawa seems to have a few festivals every month. There's always seems to some kind of festival out in town somewhere. Okinawan people are really festive and seem to really enjoy a very laid back life here on the islands. Recently went to the "Esia" festival down in Naha city. I think Esia is an word used for happiness(a least thats the translation I got from one of the locals).

The streets were packed. The parade stretched for about 8-10 blocks.

At the beginning of the the festival they had 10,000 drummers, dancers, and preformers dance to a single song. Yeah, "Esia" is supposed to be one of the biggest festival in Okinawa along with the tug-a-war festival.
