Marvel comics

I'm a big comic fan. I read and collect the comic books, and watch the movies. So recently I've been eying Marvel Entertainment (MVL). Who doesn't like a story about heroes? So far the stock has been up almost 10% in April.

Look how Spider man trilogy did in the summer box offices. All the toys licenses to Hasbro. No doubt they've been doing well. There previous success were all license out to other companies. Ex: Sony studios made Spiderman, so Marvel had to split the profits with Sony.

While the stock is at its 52 week high, I'm considering investing in it. May 2nd, Iron Man comes out. And unlike Spiderman, Marvel is making the movie and taking the risks undertaking it. It also mean they take most of the profits. This is going to be a big leap for Marvel. I'm still cautious about this tho. The stock shows strong resistance at 30, and its to close to its high. Also unlike Spiderman 3, it is not a trilogy. Fed are expected to stop cuts too, which means bad news.

Possible swing either way 5-10% depending on this weekends release numbers. If I am going to add this stock, its going to be a third of portfolio. Buying on Wednesday, hopefully on a dip. If it dips to much, then on thursday will margin to double on my position. Stop loss....most likely at 27.40.

Yeah so go to the movies on the weekend, Watch Iron Man.

Gta4

My roommate just got gta4 for my ps3. Its pretty cool game so far. Also got super smash brawl last week. Fun game too. Been too busy lately too, be playing so many games. College classes been loading up hw, got like 8-9 chapters to read a week. Anyways had dragon boat practice yesterday, practiced with the navy teams and we beat them pretty bad.

Visa came out with good earnings, and dropped 4% in the same day. I think because of the short sellers were trying to cover. Anyways the today, it went up a good 6%. UP to 80. Expecting a possible correction, but there's a overall bullish trend backed up with a strong volume.

Visa has been fluctuating a lot ever since it came. Even day traders find it hard trading it. Anyways earnings come out next week. If it dips before earnings, I buy a few more shares. It probably wont tho, cause of all the anticipation of good earnings. Considering buying some puts, using them as a hedge, just in case it tanks. Hopefully the earnings report is not already factored in the current price.

Dragon Boat practice

Had dragon boat practice on tues afternoon. It was pretty fun. The practice boats were too small. Either that or there was too many ppl(or too many heavy ppl) on the the boat. Halfway way thru practice, the boat started to take on to much water. On the next turn turn, the boat sank! It sank in the middle of the cove. We flipped it over and started to flutter kick with the boat, all the way back to the beach!(a few hundred yards) Then we emptied the boat and went back to practice.

starting off the week monday!!

Woke up today around 5. Did a relatively short run around the base. At work we had to put back together a Humvee, just the small parts, frame, seat belts, plates, seats, doors, radios, radio stand thing. After lunch , got sent to medical and got another anthrax shot and they took a vial of blood to test. The anthrax shot really numbs up the arm for a while. Got out of work kinda late, rushed to chow, then to class. I guess Mondays make me really tired. Fell asleep 10 mins into the class...
